because of disappointing atten dance at this two Broad way shows he will not book tour ing companies of Broadway plays next year Alden whose Clinton Conn Broadway productions have not Liye Productions been financially viable because New in its first sea they cost so much and because son at the historic theater said he Springfield corporations have would concentrate next year on failed to make a commitment to music shows dance and theater at Paramount Lorneay we intena to nave a heavy he said Paramount owner Donald Cam pion said he might talk to other promoters about bringing in Broadway I would not be overly Alden said that all categories except for jazz and Broadway did well this season The two Broadway touring pro ductions in Decem ber and in March played to only between 50 and 60 percent of capacity Paramount seats 2471 Alden said both shows cost more than $100000 for three perform ances lost money on he said He added the season suffered from the cancellation of the national tour of Cage Aux which had been booked for last1 month The tour has since been revived and University of Massachusetts ine Arts Center in Amherst has booked it for Oct 5 6 i and 7 The ine Arts Center
