The "12 Days to Deming" course by Dr.Henry Neave is the best course that I can recommend to new or any quality management professional. It helps to dig down into the teachings of Dr.W Edwards Deming. It is not just for quality management professionals, but for any professional / business owner/entrepreneur. It is a course developed based on what Dr.Deming used to teach during his 4 days Seminars to top management/business owners.

It is important to learn the basics of QM. After that, you definitely should put a lot of effort in getting a real expert in the QMS requirements of the specific field you are working in.If that field is medical devices, I can recommend a course offered by Johner Institute (disclaimer: I am working there). It is called "ISO 13485 Lead Auditor", and in 5 days we discuss each singe requirement of that specific standards.Courses for lead auditors should be the most elaborate ones, depending on the complexity of the standard they should at least comprise 24 hours. When choosing a course, make sure that the trainers have the necessary competence, I missed to do that once, which cost me hours of precious time and a lot of money...
